UNICAJA- FEDECOM COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

FEDECOM and its network of member chambers, with the support and official recognition from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce (www.mityc.es)of the Government of Spain, aim to enhance trade relations between Spain and those countries where the member chambers are represented. Trade relations would be promoted by offering a vast range of high added value services, including promotional events, personal assistance to companies, seminars, participation in European projects, etc. UNICAJA (www.unicaja.es), aware of the importance of foreign markets for the member Chambers of FEDECOM, will collaborate for the success of these objectives through preferential credit lines for investment projects in an international framework and provides a range of products and services for the Chambers already active in this framework, in order to meet their specific needs and improve its international position.


NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In the last FEDECOM Ordinary General Assembly, Mr. Rosendo Candela, Vice-president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Italy , was elected as new President of FEDECOM, replacing Mr. Rafael Pérez in such position. Mr. Candela was born in Barcelona , he is qualified in Business and Administration, Tax Consultant, International Tax advisor as well as estate agent. He has been founding member and Vice-president of BC Company. It would also be remarkable the appointment as new members of the Board of Directors of FEDECOM of Enrique Santos, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Portugal, as first Vice-president and Luis Martínez, President of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg and Representative of CECA in BENELUX, as second Vice-president.

 


ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY FEDECOM 2009

The Ordinary General Assembly of FEDECOM was held in Madrid, 26th June, with the attendance of General Secretaries and Presidents of the affiliated Chambers. The Agenda of the Assembly consisted on the following: Opening session; Reading, discussion and approval of the minutes of the Extraordinary General Assembly (Madrid, 10/10/2008); Reading, discussion and approval of the 2008 annual accounts; Reading, discussion and approval of the 2008 activities record; Ongoing projects; Aims for the 2009-2010 financial year; Voting for Presidency and Vice-presidency; Open forum and closing ceremony. Likewise, agreements were ratified by FEDECOM and other associations and it was discussed and approved the participation and application to projects from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 


ENVIRONMENTAL SEMINAR

The Secretary of State for Trade in collaboration with FEDECOM and the rest of Spanish Official Chambers of Commerce Abroad have organized two informative videoconference sessions held by the law firm Uría and Menendez Lawyers about environmental obligations and responsibilities.
The informative sessions were broadcasted from Madrid. The Spanish Chambers of Commerce of London, Brussels, Lisbon, Paris, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Pekin and Sidney participated in the first session. The second session focused on the Spanish Chambers of Commerce in America.
The two-hour conference aimed to explain from a practical point of view important aspects of the environmental legislation for companies and agencies whose activities are developed outside their country of origin.

COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

During the week of 16-20 June, seizing the opportunity of the visit of CAMACOES to Spain, it was signed a collaboration agreement between the network of CAMACOES and the entreprise INTERES (www.investinspain.org). INTERES leads the policies of attracting foreign investment to Spain.

According to the terms of the agreement, the CAMACOES will act as agents of interest in the promotion of Spain as recipient of foreign investments.
Organizing events for entrepeneurs in their own countries and disseminating information in their bulletins and magazines will be some of the actions of the CAMACOES.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of Interest (Begoña Cristeto), the presidents of two Federations of CAMACOES (one for America - FECECA - and the other for Europe and Morocco - FEDECOM-) and the presidents of the four chambers in Asia and Australia, and became effective in the signing date. As far as INTERES is concerned, the company is open to collaborate on the organized activities in Spain or abroad. INTERES may participate as speaker, co-organizer, potential sponsor or guest, among other possibilities. INTERES may also provide the information required to act as "Spokesmen for Spain" and spread the advantages of investing in Spain for their own countries.
